Breakfast Stout

Beer: Breakfast Stout
Brewer: Founders
alc.%: 8.3

The flavors in this stout include chocolate, oats, and coffee; the basics to any nutritous breakfast.   You can clearly taste all three of the basic flavors, and it come off soo good.  I had it off draught and it came to me dark dark brown with a nice creamy full head.  It tastes like a meal in a glass and I'm pretty sure you could live off of it alone.  It's deliciously full flavored which totally masks the potency of this Stout.

St. Pauli's Girl

Beer: St. Pauli Girl
Brewer: St. Pauli
alc.%:  4.9

Classic German lager.  This is a refreshing beer.  The smell is strong with bitter hoppy lager skunk. The taste however is not skunky; The german hop level gives St. Pauli a great mouth filling flavor. It has a pretty bitter finish but still very drinkable.  What a woman.

YETTI

Beer:  Yeti
Brewer:  Great Divide Brewing
alc.%:  9.5

This poured out looking more like a solid than a liquid.  Another one black as night.  It has one of the darker caramel heads ive seen, nearly the same color as the body.  The smell is potent like a good Yeti should be; smelled like dark chocolate, hops, caramel, and something else... maybe its real bits of Yeti.  Turns out delicous; I can see why this is an award winning Imperial Stout.  Just think of a Yeti, and thats what this one tastes like.

Green Flash

Beer: Imperial India Pale Ale
Brewer: Green Flash Brewing
Alc.%  : 9.4

Crispy.  Thats how I describe this hopped up ale.  I had this from draught.  It was served in a pint glass so the light was shining through a burnt orange color.  The first taste is like a grapefruit or something citrussy which comes from the variety of hops loaded into this powerful ale.  They have the perfect level of sweetness to pair with that huge hop CRISPY finish.  This is a great full flavored Imperial India Pale Ale.

400 POUND MONKEY

Beer: 400 Pound Monkey
Brewer: Left Hand Brewing
alc.%: 6.7

400 Pound Monkey is a very light and smooth India Pale Ale.  It has a great taste. Its all the flavors of an IPA, the hops, the citrusy floral, only they were very mellow campared to other IPA's.  It ranks up there with the really good  Left Hand beers.   I would recommend this to any IPA fan.

Smithwicks

Beer: Smithwicks
Brewer: Guiness
Alc.%  : 4.6

This Irish red ale is said to be the first of its kind.  It was brewed over 300 years ago by monks using water straight from the friars well and barley that has always been cultivated in ireland.  Smithwick's is a smooth very enjoyable drink.  At first smell you can get hints of caramel, malt, floral, fruits and biscuits.  As I delve into the creamy head I enjoy very slight bitter coffee flavors with a very smooth malty finish.  I taste little hints of all of its smells.  This is another of my favorites for sure.  I can see why this is Irelands best selling red ale.  Huge Taste, Smooth Finish.

Nut Brown

Beer: Nut Brown Ale
Brewer: Mountaineer Brewing
alc.% : 5.11

MMMMmmmm nut brown ale.  I admit, this is one of my favorite beers. This poors a dark brown with a nice creamy white head.  Once it hits your lips you'll be enjoying a smooth malt, roasted nut flavor.  I wish I could find one here in ohio.  This is a perfect ale to enjoy all evening companied with the 'Neers handin out a beat down.

The Expedition

Beer: Expedition
Brewer: Belles
Alc. % : 10.5

This is probably the darkest beer I have ever had.  This imperial stout has a crazy amount of hops and malt that provide a suprisingly smooth, comforting finish.   I had my first expidition from draught; it arrived atop my coaster black as night with an inviting caramel head bubbling to the surface.  Belles put a serious coffee flavor into this one.  The strong coffee goes well with the hints of smoky chocolate. Two of these bad boys and your set for a nice relaxing evening. This stout is made for storing away to age into an even more delicous nectar.  I'll be aging a sixer of these and  be reporting back for the conlusion. If I can wait.
